Self-care is about giving yourself a gift and making time to do the things that fill your soul so you can care for others. This month ask for help and make it happen! Perhaps you crave a long walk or run outdoors, time to create with a favorite hobby or quiet to read a book. Sometimes we have gotten ourselves to a point where we are so depleted we aren’t even sure what we want and lack the energy to make a decision when we get the time to do so. If you’re finding yourself uninspired, start here with a delicious tea designed to relieve stress
Unwind Tea Blend (makes 1 cup)
1/2 tsp dried lavender flowers
1/2 tsp dried chamomile flowers
1 tsp dried lemon balm
2 tsp holy basil
1 tbs honey (optional)
Bring 1 cups of water to a boil, mix herbs in a mug and pour water over. Cover with a plate and let infuse for 15 minutes. Strain tea and add honey to taste. You can blend and store the dried ingredients in larger quantities if desired!
Aromatherapy hot-towel treatment
For a quick facial pick me up try this easy aromatherapy treatment
Wash skin as usual. Add 2 drops of geranium essential oil to a basin of hot water. Soak a washcloth in the scented hot water, wring out and apply to your face for a couple minutes.
Honey and Lavender Facial Mask
If you have a few more minutes, try this excellent moisturizing treatment for your skin. Honey draws moisture to the skin without feeling oily and lavender is a great balancing oil for all skin types.
1 TBS raw honey
3 drops lavendar essential oil
Combine ingredients. Dampen face and neck with warm water. Apply mixture and allow to remain on your skin for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
Alternate Nostril Breathing
Try alternate nostril breathing to relax your nervous system and quickly calm the mind.
Sit in a comfortable position. With your right thumb press your right nostril closed and inhale slowly and deeply through the left nostril. Release your thumb and press your left nostril closed with your ring finger, hold the breath for a few seconds and then slowly exhale through the right nostril. Immediately inhale through the right nostril slowly and steadily. Then reverse, close your right nostril with your thumb again and release ring finger. Hold the breath for  a few seconds and then exhale slowly through the left nostril. Repeat this cycle 10 times keeping breath even and controlled.
