HOLISTIC MOMS NETWORK EXPANDS GOVERNING BOARD
New Trustees to infuse energy and knowledge to help organization grow
[Caldwell, NJ] [February 6, 2024] – Celebrating two decades of commitment to holistic parenting and green living, the Holistic Moms Network (HMN) is excited to announce a significant expansion to its Board of Trustees. Joining existing Trustees Barbara Arango, CAE, Michael Connolly, and Rajae Nami, along with Executive Director Andria Somers, are two distinguished members, Kate Birch, RSHom, CCH, and Stacy Cook, LOT, CCH. This dynamic team is set to lead HMN into a transformative era of growth.
As part of the expansion, both Ms. Cook and Ms. Birch bring extensive expertise as certified homeopaths specializing in the treatment of special needs children. They are also proud members of Free and Healthy Children International (FHCi). Ms. Birch’s contributions extend globally, having served on the board of the North American Society of Homeopaths and acted as a liaison to the International Council for Homeopathy. Ms. Cook, with over 20 years of experience as a licensed occupational therapist, serves her community passionately.
“I am eager to contribute to the evolving community of individuals participating in and seeking all holistic options,” commented Ms. Birch, expressing her enthusiasm for expanding HMN’s connections with like-minded groups. Ms. Cook added, “Holistic living is where it’s at! I’m so glad to be part of the HMN team.”
Chair Arango expressed gratitude, stating, “HMN is fortunate to have found these leaders in the holistic community to contribute to our growth and expand our reach. We are excited to see where we can support the growing demand for holistic options and education.”
HMN’s mission is complemented by its vision: “Networks of safe, encouraging, multi-generational communities where families have the resources and connections for raising children holistically.” This vision underscores HMN’s commitment to creating supportive environments for families embracing holistic approaches. HMN operates through local chapters across the country led by volunteer community organizers. These chapters bring holistic parents together through various activities, monthly gatherings, playgroups, and more. The national organization supports local communities and provides partnerships and educational resources.
Andria Somers, HMN’s Executive Director, shared her perspective, stating, “Holistic Moms Network is not just an organization; it’s a community that embraces diversity and supports families in their unique parenting journey. We are building a network where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to make choices that align with their holistic values.”
As HMN welcomes new leaders to the Board, Michael Connolly, an existing Trustee, welcomed the new energy, stating, “I am both honored and proud to be part of such an excellent and impactful group dedicated to providing families with a community of support, information, and resources for natural living and gentle parenting.”
